Ontem, 25 de junho, foi lembrado o primeiro aniversário da morte de Michael Jackson. E como homenagem ao Rei do Pop, o Melodia inaugura com ele a seção Letra da Semana!
A canção Man in the Mirror, escrita por Michael Jackson para o álbum Bad, de 1987, fechava seus shows com chave de ouro com seus belos arranjos e uma letra mais do que sublime (além do espetáculo visual, como da clássica despedida “voando” sobre o público, vista na turnê mundial Dangerous).
Para mim, o legado mais importante de MJ não está nos vocais marcantes, nas batidas contagiantes ou nas coreografias geniais. O que revela o verdadeiro Michael Jackson são suas composições – e Man in the Mirror é sem dúvida umas das mais bonitas.
Seu clipe, postado aqui também, emociona e nos faz pensar ao mostrar moradores de rua e crianças vítimas da fome na África. Toca na nossa ferida já que, antes de cobrar providências dos governos, precisamos fazer a nossa parte. Precisamos mudar nossa atitude. Mudar o homem no espelho.
